STEAM learning is a great way to engage children.
At Camp Art Attack, children explore the STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) subjects though art. Campers stretch and explore ideas that are interesting to them as they learn to reach beyond their capacity, free to explore playfully and embrace the opportunity to learn from mistakes.

Artistically Inspired
Inspired from the Reggio Emilia Approach to learning, and the Forest Kindergarten education style Camp Inspire utilized the Child Center Model. The campers at Camp Art Attack stay fully engaged the full time exploring, creating hypothesis, making sketches, creating, and learning through constructive play. |
Stop Motion Animation
Engineering and technology go hand in had with visual arts. At Camp Art Attack children have the opportunity to learn about stop motion animation. First the children write a script using a storyboard, just like the animators at Disney and Pixar. Then, the children create their own scenery, backdrop and props. Once they are ready, they create their very own stop motion digitally mastered video using the Stop Motion App on our iPads. This is a big hit with all campers. Basket Weaving
Basket weaving is an important skill taught in many cultures including Native American and people from the Gullah Culture. The Gullah are the descendants of enslaved Africans of various ethnic groups who live in the Lowcountry of Georgia and South Carolina. The campers learn about reed and sweet grass baskets and the function and significance of this art form. |
